Candle Care & Safety Tips
To get the most out of your Geneva Candles & Co experience and enjoy a safe, clean burn every time, follow these simple care tips:
-
Always burn your candle within sight and keep it away from anything flammable, as well as from children and pets.
-
Trim the wick to about 3/16" (5mm) before each use to prevent soot and ensure an even burn.
-
Keep the wax pool free of wick trimmings, matches, and debris.
-
Avoid burning your candle for more than 4 hours at a time. For smaller candles, we recommend a max of 2 hours per session.
-
Stop burning your candle once 1/2" of wax remains to help prevent overheating or glass breakage.
For a Clean, Even Burn:
-
Burn in a well-ventilated space, away from drafts, vents, or fans, which can cause uneven burning.
-
After extinguishing, gently center and straighten the wick while the wax is still soft.
-
Let the candle cool completely before relighting, and clean off any wick residue before the next use.
-
Place multiple candles at least 8 inches apart to avoid heat interference.
-
If the flame seems off-center or uneven, rotate the candle or move it out of a draft.
Use the candle’s lid to safely extinguish the flame and keep your wax clean between burns.
